Gopinathan started out as a professional accountant and went on to complete courses in Business Management and Computer Programming during a decades-long career. He worked in different senior executive roles before starting out on his own as a freelance business application developer (during MS DOS days). The long career provided him insights into all areas of business from finance and marketing to cost and operations control. He decided to retire when Windows replaced MS DOS and to focus on writing, his main interest. Having completed a formal one-year course in writing, he had a few pieces published in print before turning his attention to the emerging new media, the Web. Gopinathan started writing on the Web around 2000 and has been writing content for other Web businesses since 2006. He has delivered over a thousand pieces of writing for a large number of businesses. In the process, he gained additional exposure to issues of doing business online. As the Topic Editor for Business Management at Suite101.com, he had been researching and writing weekly articles on varied issues of managing a business for three years now. This project kept him up-to-date on basic business issues and emerging business practices. |
